One Grinder, Five Roasters, and a Room Full of Coffee People

There’s something about Bangkok in May — the heat, the hum of the city, and if you happen to be near the BITEC exhibition center, the unmistakable smell of freshly roasted coffee drifting through the air.
World of Coffee Bangkok is Asia’s biggest annual meetup for the specialty coffee world, and this year, we were there for the first time — Booth C110, DB-1 in hand.

Three days felt less like a trade show and more like a trip. We’ve always believed that a great grinder does one thing well: it makes a great cup of coffee, and that cup brings people together.

One Grinder, Five Roasters from Taiwan

We couldn’t resist turning this into something a little more interesting: One Grinder, Five Roasters。

We brought in five of our favorite roasters and cafes from back home in Taiwan, and put every single one of their beans through the Solright DB-1 — sharing each cup with everyone who walked by:

Grind True, Taste Thailand

Since we’d made the trip to Thailand, we figured: why not let people taste it too? We teamed up with Sudrit Specialty Coffee from Nan province in northern Thailand, brought their highland beans to the bar, and ran the whole thing under one simple idea — “Grind True, Taste Thailand.”

Every visitor got to enjoy the flavors of Thai coffee — and discover just how intuitive the Solright DB-1 is to use.

On day two, Singaporean barista Sam Wen Jun stepped behind the bar for a full Takeover session, brewing cup after cup for the crowd with the DB-1. Good coffee has a way of turning strangers into people with something in common — and that’s exactly the kind of moment we were there to create.

The Full Ride: From Grind to Cup

At the booth, we kept things straightforward: pick your bean, grind it, brew it, drink it. Every visitor got to get hands-on with the Solright DB-1 — spin the external dial, dial in their grind size, and walk away with a cup they made themselves.
