Solright x Peacock Coffee Workshop | Making Lattes Easily with AeroPress!

On a Saturday morning, with a slight chill in the air carrying hints of coffee aroma, we visited Peacock Coffee in Taichung to host a special coffee workshop with the creative owner NateSolright DB-1 x AeroPress latte making. This event wasn’t just about sharing professional coffee techniques; it was more like friends gathering to learn together, showing how you can easily make cafe-quality lattes at home!

Turns Out Lattes Aren’t That Hard—DB-1 Grinder + AeroPress Are Your Perfect Partners

The main speaker for this course was Nate, founder of Peacock Coffee and a professional barista. He introduced the features of the Solright DB-1 grinder in easy-to-understand terms and explained the basic extraction principles of the AeroPress.

“You can think of the AeroPress as a manual version of an espresso machine. Although the pressure is slightly weaker, with the correct usage method, you can absolutely make rich flavors that rival professional espresso machines.”

Among the participants, half were already serious coffee enthusiasts, while the other half were just beginning their coffee exploration journey. This atmosphere of exchange made everyone more engaged, filling the venue with discussion and laughter, making coffee surprisingly relaxed and fun, closer to everyday life.

With the DB-1, You Can Easily Make Delicious AeroPress Lattes at Home

STEP 1:Invert the AeroPress and add 18g of ground coffee (DB-1 recommended setting: 2.5)

STEP 2:(0:00-0:20) Pour in 50ml of hot water, stir 6 times (back and forth), and let it rest for 20 seconds

STEP 3 :(0:20-0:40) Pour in another 40g of hot water, and continue stirring 6 more times (back and forth)

STEP 4 :(0:40-1:00) Attach the paper filter cap and flip it over, releasing any air

STEP 5 :After 1 minute, start pressing down steadily, taking about 15-20 seconds to complete

FINISH :Pour the coffee into 120-150ml of milk, and your latte is complete!

This recipe creates a concentrated coffee extraction, similar to a 1:3 latte ratio, which is rich but not too heavy. If you want it stronger, you can reduce the additional water (the 40ml can be omitted) to increase the concentration. Give it a try and see which method best suits your taste preferences!
